Each cat has different preferences, so we can tailor the setup of an enclosure to suit the individual resident.
Our larger walk-in enclosures provide approximately 2.2 square metres of floor space and a 2-metre roof height, with accommodation for up to three cats from the same household. We also offer smaller individual enclosures suitable for one cat.
Cats staying with us receive daily time outside their enclosure, with opportunities for play, interaction, cuddles and enrichment.
A quiet environment for cats. Cats can be sensitive to noise, unfamiliar smells and other animals.
That's why our facility is designed specifically around cats rather than operating as a mixed dog-and-cat boarding environment.
Our air-conditioned premises provide heating and cooling throughout the year, while carbon filtration helps maintain air quality and minimise odours.

Ava & Archer has been providing cat care since opening our boarding cattery in 2022. Our team has extensive experience handling and caring for cats with different personalities, ages and needs. We understand that some cats need more reassurance than others. Whether your cat is confident and curious or prefers a quiet hideaway, we'll take their individual personality into account during their stay.
Licensed cat boarding in Canberra
Ava & Archer is a licensed ACT boarding establishment. The ACT Government's current register lists Ava and Archer as a licensed boarding establishment in Fyshwick, with the current licence expiring in February 2030.
We take our responsibilities for animal welfare, cleanliness and safe accommodation seriously.

First cat — $35.00 per night
Second cat — $30.00 per night
Third cat — $18.00 per night

Peak holiday periods attract a surcharge. Please check our current booking conditions before making a reservation.
Cat boarding requirements
For the safety and welfare of all cats staying with us, boarding requirements apply.
Cats must meet our vaccination and other boarding requirements before admission. Our current terms and conditions specify completed F3 or F4 vaccinations and that cats must be over four months of age and desexed. If your cat requires medication during their stay, please discuss this with us before booking. Medication administration is available for an additional fee.

Ava & Archer is located at 8/169 Newcastle Street, Fyshwick ACT 2609, conveniently positioned close to major arterial routes and Canberra Airport.
This makes dropping off and collecting your cat convenient whether you're travelling from Canberra, Queanbeyan or the surrounding region.
Walk In Enclosure
Our large enclosures are a walk in 2.2 square meter space with a roof height of 2 metres. Suitable for up to 3 cats from the same home. Discount for more than one cat from same home, sharing an enclosure (not available during peak holiday periods).

There is a 25% raise on fees during holiday periods, school holidays, Christmas and New Year and Easter.
We have smaller 1 metre square enclosures with raised tables and hidey holes. These are perfect for one cat.

Booking Conditions
We have a boarding minimum of 1 (one) full day.
Check In and Check Out times:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday is between 8:00am and 2:00pm. SAturday 8:00am to 1:00pm
Wednesday and Thursday 9:00am to 10:00am and 3:00pm to 4:00pm only
Sunday Pick Up and Drop Off 9:30am and 4:00pm only. Timings are strict on Sunday.
*PEAK SEASON is defined as Christmas/New Year holiday period AND Easter Long weekend. OFF PEAK is defined as any other time .
*PEAK SEASON CHECK IN AND OUT is 9:00am and 3:00pm ONLY due to staffing levels. Our night staff are unable to check in or out.
*Christmas/New Year period attract a 25% surcharge on the daily rate, due to the increase in staff wages for public holidays.
Peak Season Bookings:
DEPOSITS FOR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS MUST BE PAID 6 WEEKS PRIOR TO CHECK IN OTHERIWSE BOOKING WILL CANCEL.
For bookings made over Christmas/New Year (between the 20/12 until 9/1) we require that full payment be made for dates reserved, UPON CHECK IN.
During this period, should you choose to pick up your cat earlier than the organised dates, no refund will be given. We have needed to implement this policy, for the above period, as we will have turned away other customers in order to accommodate your cat.
Please Note: Check In & Check Outs are NOT available on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. NO Drop off on Public Holidays such as Good Friday. There is NO PICK UP on Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day.
The last Check in day for the Christmas period is the 24th of December 8:00AM to 10:00AM. Ava & Archer is then Closed for Check in and Check Out until 9.00am on the 27th of December, unless that day falls on a public holiday.
Please note late check-outs will require an extra half days payment. 25% Deposit is required to book a space. If a deposit is not paid within 7 days of the booking, the booking will be cancelled.
We provide premium foods and litter, included in the boarding fee.
